    • Cradled in a valley between the Rocky Mountains, the Monashee Mountains and the Cariboo Mountains, the friendly village of Valemount is itself nestled at the foot of Canoe Mountain.

    • Valemount is the home of Mount Robson, at 3,954 metres the highest peak in the Rockies and the origin of the mighty Fraser River. This is real mountain country, with unparalleled natural beauty, quiet solitude, and clean mountain air in The Valley of the Mountains.

  • Valemount has a variety of coffee shops, restaurants, fast food outlets, pubs and lounges, including Summit Grill, onsite at Best Western Valemount.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES IN VALEMOUNT

  • Mount Robson Provincial Park

    Mount Robson Provincial Park is the second oldest park in the province and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990. At the heart of this protected area are the headwaters and the first 100km of the largest salmon producing river in the world.

  • Boating/Swimming

    Paddle through the winding channels in a wildlife sanctuary, or sun yourself on warm rocks before jumping into calm pools in a cool river - welcome to your happy place!

  • Hiking & Heli-Hiking

    Snow-capped peaks, glacial outcrops, alpine meadows, raging rivers and misty waterfalls. You’ve walked right inside a painting, and now it’s up to you to discover what awaits around the next corner.

  • White water rafting

    Hear the deafening roar of the water as it carries you through its wake; the only thing you’ll feel is the icy spray as it hits you in the face and keeps you focused. On the might Fraser River in the shadow of the magnificent Mount Robson, the only thing you need to think about is what’s around the next corner.

  • Mountain Biking

    Some call it mountain biking, but here in the Robson Valley we just call it biking and we’ve been doing it long before it became one of the fastest growing sports in North America.

WINTER ACTIVITIES IN VALEMOUNT

  • Sled-Assisted Skiing & snowboarding at Crystal Ridge

    We’re home to the world’s only sled-assisted ski hill, Crystal Ridge, where you can race to the top of the mountain with your skis or snowboard strapped to your snowmobile (‘sled’) and launch yourself back down through some of the best powder in the country.

  • Snowcat & Heli-skiing

    To truly comprehend the beauty of this place (and to find the best powder) one has to go up. You’ll need a pair of fat skis and a ride - either on a Snowcat or in a helicopter.

  • Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing

    If your ideal vacation is one you can come back rom relaxed and rejuvenated, experience cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in Valemount. Head along the Robson River to Overlander Falls and unearth the beauty of the old-growth forests in winter as lower elevation summer hiking trails convert to scenic snowshoe paths once the snow begins to fall.

  • Ice Skating

    Drink in this truly Canadian experience - open air ice-skating. With blue skies above and the smooth surface of Cranberry Marsh below, pond skating is something we cherish in Valemount, and it’s even more fun with new friends!

  • Dog Sledding

    Mush! People from across the globe travel thousands of miles to go dog sledding. In Valemount, this one-in-a-lifetime encounter is right outside our door. Dog sledding captures your imagination forcing you to think back to a time when man and beast relied on one another and their cool wits to survive.
